Inspiration is what keeps people going. You will need it to get out of bed today. When you do leave your house, you will need it as you walk around the streets. You will need it while walking around the streets as you will meet a lot of people who lack it. You will see hopelessness in all its forms in the streets. At the office, you will need it as you work through file after file. As you attack one pile of work after another. Inspiration is what keeps your life going. All day, every day.
Meditation may not be your thing, you may call it prayer or you may just like to sit quietly in the garden. And I am not saying that beer creates Follow me, although every polyglot I know speaks a foreign language better after a drink. (Perhaps it promotes relaxation).
Many people confuse lack of motivation with being lazy. Ultimately there is no such thing as being lazy. But there certainly can be an absence of motivation due to a lack of motive.
You can motivate as well as force yourself to scrub the spots out of your carpet. However, that does not mean you will enjoy what you have just accomplished. In fact, you will do everything in you power to prevent future spots.
You have to make the shift from focusing on something external to focusing on yourself. If someone motivates you it’s like you have an external shell of motivation. It’s belonging to somebody else’s. So it doesn’t lead you to take action. If you feel motivated deep inside yourself, you’re lead to take action. Most exterior motivation comes in the form of hearing about others’ achievements, empty motivation phrases, and others. Interior motivation comes in the form of you knowing you can do it, you remembering past successes, and others.
3) Utilize Modern Day Technology. – We live in a day where the internet is becoming the “go-to” place for information. It use to be so that if we wanted to find out more about a topic, all we had were encyclopedias and the local library. Now days we have social media sites like YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook.
While you are motivating yourself don’t forget to reward yourself! Rewards are a great motivator. So don’t forget to give yourself little incentives on the way to your big goal.
The main point of this article is to find what inspires you. The key word in that sentence is “you”. Work on developing your writing and finding inspiration to guide you. Inspiration should never be used as an excuse to write and there is no preconceived formula on how to find inspiration. Be willing to make time to write, give yourself adequate rest and work on becoming more aware of your thought process. Inspiration will likely follow shortly thereafter.
