Your Magnaflow exhaust package comes with three pieces–a resonator, center pipe, and muffler section. The front resonator comes with a mounting flange that bolts right onto your stock catalytic converter. This part connects to a center pipe that is secured with exhaust clamps, which are supplied. And the rear muffler section joins together, exiting the car in the center of the rear bumper. Also, all the parts are stainless steel, which don’t rust or stain–nice job Magnaflow.
Maintenance. Upgrading your car usually means pushing stock components past their normal operating limits. In order to keep reliability high you’ll want to make sure a full service is done for the car (including timing belt change, if not done in the past 5 years, and balancer belt if you still have balance shafts). Also, do a full fluid change for the car, which means engine oil, gearbox oil, transfer box and rear diff, brake fluid, clutch fluid and coolant. That means everything is fresh and you know what time your service intervals start at. I will talk about service intervals for your car in a future post.
There is a disadvantage with this, for the hybrid vehicles are regarded to be the nastiest polluting agents for environment. On every energy cell there is label stating the proper disposal of the energy cell. As these energy cells contain noxious heavy metals, improper disposal may lead to the pollution of underground water resources. Not only water pollution, but these energy cells also pollute the soil. Energy cells those are disposed in wastelands, after few years cause widespread soil pollution.
Nextly, exhaust gases exit from your manifold or header, travel through a bit of pipe, then end up in the catalytic converter price guide, or “cat”. The cat’s main job is to help clean up some of the harmful chemicals from your exhaust gas so they don’t end up in your lungs.
They have been considerably upgraded and provide high-end performance as well as durability. You can find them with a ceramic or metal matrix. You can get them in super stainless direct fit configuration. You can find some that you can take as a universal fit converter. It means you do not require any welding with the direct fit scrap catalytic converter. It has the oxygen sensor fit and the flanges in order to replace the original equipment. You can simply weld or clamp them into place depending on your choice. However, make sure that you get one such product which has the same outlet and inlet dimensions. You can track them independently or look at different results by racers, automobile magazines as well as engine construction workers.
Unfortunately, things start getting more difficult after simple BPU(TM) modifications. Modification becomes more than “bolt on Downpipe, gain 50hp”. Things like tuning, parts selection, and matching combinations of parts become much more important. However, this is the case with ANY high HP car. Actually, even at exceptionally high power levels, the Supra TT is still easier to extract power from than almost any other performance car. But it should be kept in mind, that it wouldn’t be as simple as the BPU(TM) bolt-ons.
The best cat-back systems are made with stainless steel and have a lifetime warranty. In this category you can find systems with less restrictive mufflers. These mufflers will regain some lost horsepower that the stock muffler took, because of its internal design and the backpressure it developed. Some are called “glasspacks” and others are “straight through” designs. You can also find systems that lower the sound frequency and give you a deep sound that is not normally found on the typical four or six cylinder engine. And of course you can find systems that have a giant tail pipe tip. It looks impressive, but for practical terms does not do much for your car.
